Noel is a Skilled story teller
and raconteur known for his humour, honesty, generosity of spirit, and
encyclopaedic knowledge of his subject matter. He speaks on a variety of
topics including Holistic Management,
personal development, working with the media, communication, team
building, and decision-making.
His
30 years experience and training in both media and interpersonal communications, includes being a feature news reporter,
program host, and documentary
producer with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation; an
internationally-syndicated weekly columnist on agriculture and resources on
the CBC AM network, and on Radio Canada International; a freelance
producer, writer, narrator, and host for custom film, video and television productions;
and a freelance writer of articles and editorials for a variety of
publications.
Noel
has taught radio and television production, and business writing for various
clients, as well as being a Sessional Lecturer on Communications at the
University of Alberta.
He is a co-author of the book Alternative
Futures for Prairie Agricultural Communities published by the
University of Alberta, 1991.
Noel is also a skilled workshop
facilitator, who leads workshops in Holistic Management, Personal
Communication skills, Participative Workshop Leadership, Media Relations,
Effective Writing, and Audiovisual Production.
As a Personal and Business
Coach, Noel works with private individuals,
business owners, and employees at all levels in public and private
organizations to provide guidance for career advancement and change.
Noel has many years’ experience in
working with First Nations people. He has worked as an adult
educator, and Native Co-op Development officer in northern Alberta, been a
Board Member of the Aboriginal Multi Media Society (http://www.ammsa.com/index.htm)
for more than twenty years, and is a member of a Cree family by marriage.
As an International
Communications Consultant, Noel has worked in Egypt, China, Japan,
Israel, and the West Indies, as well as the United States.
Midlife Guide and Mentor
Noel
has experienced his own ‘midlife transition’, and offers guidance to others
experiencing the changes that often come with middle age. He is the
publisher of the popular Midlife Men
website, and editor of, Midlife Wisdom for
Men, a bi-weekly newsletter designed for men at midlife (between 35 and
60). The articles are short, punchy and informative. The newsletter gives men
tools and knowledge to help them navigate the choppy waters of middle age
passages, and lead them to the new sea of
possibilities beyond.
